The LaGrange baseball team continued its rise in the D3baseball.com Top 25 poll released Tuesday. The Panthers are now seventh in the national poll, after debuting at No. 16 two weeks ago.
The Panthers will take an 18-2 record into Thursday's game at Cleaveland Field in Williamson Stadium against Stevens Institute of Technology (N.J.). LC leads Division III in wins, and is ranked in the top 10 in nine Division III statistical categories. In the USA South, the Panthers lead in 12 statistical categories and rank in the top 5 in 16 more.
LaGrange hosts Averett in a USA South three-game series this weekend. The two teams play a doubleheader Saturday beginning at 2 p.m. and finish the series with a game on Sunday, also at 2 p.m. The Panthers lead the conference with an 8-1 record.
