LAGRANGE, Ga. – LaGrange (7-7, 3-3 USA South) men's lacrosse will have their work cut out for them as they attempt to do what only one team has done this year, take a game from USA South power Pfeiffer (14-1, 6-1 USA South), when the two meet in Misenheimer, N.C. on Saturday, April 22. Opening faceoff is set for 12 p.m.
The Panthers come in having won three of their last five games, a stretch that kicked off with back-to-back wins over Brevard (23-2 on 3/25) and Huntingdon (17-7 on 3/29) before a 15-10 loss at Greensboro (4/1). They then posted a thrilling 21-20 victory over Methodist (4/8) and fell 14-5 to USA South leader Piedmont (4/19) last time out.
Coming off a season that saw them go 12-4, Pfeiffer has been even better with 12 straight wins to open the 2023 campaign – including an 11-9 victory over defending USA South champion Southern Virginia – before falling to Piedmont (4/15) by a 15-13 score. The Falcons rebounded in their most recent outing, bludgeoning Methodist (4/19) 18-9.
SERIES HISTORY
LaGrange and Pfeiffer have met just once, that coming on April 16, 2022 at Callaway Stadium. In that one the Falcons notched a 20-11 victory.
