Freshman Kara Patterson is the USA South Rookie Pitcher of the Week for the week ending March 17.
Patterson pitched in three games last week, including her first start of the season. She pitched a total of 10-1/3 innings, allowing one earned run.
Patterson made her first collegiate start against North Carolina Wesleyan. In a 1-0 loss, she pitched a complete game, allowing five hits and the one run. Patterson walked one and struck out four. She also had relief appearances against Huntingdon and Christopher Newport.
