DECATUR, Ga. - LaGrange split a non-conference doubleheader at Agnes Scott on Wednesday. The Panthers (16-16) won the first game 5-3, while the Scotties came back to win the second game 6-4.
Kayla Folds (9-5) pitched four innings in the first game to get the win. She allowed a run on five hits, walked none and struck out three. Kara Patterson pitched the final out in relief of Cheyenne Pruitt to get her first save of the season.
The Panthers had 10 hits in the game. Laura Webber had two hits, including a double, and drove in two more runs. Lindsey Hogan, Danielle Newbern and Kalin Oglesby all had two hits. Christy Flick also had two RBIs.
In the second game, the Panthers did all of their scoring in the first inning. They finished with five hits in the game. Webber and Kelbi Burgering each had a double.
Dani Gravett started and pitched the first inning. Flick pitched 2-2/3 innings, allowing four runs. Amanda Stukel (1-1) pitched the final 2-1/3 innings, allowing two unearned runs.
The Panthers play Ferrum at 9 a.m. on Friday at the USA South Tournament in Rocky Mount, N.C.
