LAGRANGE, Ga. – In a matchup of teams at opposite ends of the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) spectrum, league-leading LaGrange (10-5, 2-0 CCS) men's basketball heads south to take on Huntingdon (1-13, 0-2 CCS) on Wednesday, January 11. Game time is set for 7 p.m. CST in Montgomery, Alabama.
The early leader in the inaugural CCS, the Panthers have flexed their muscle with wins in five of their last seven, including back-to-back road tilts on January 6-7. Those would see them knock off Maryville 88-84 and Berea 82-75. HC enters the meeting having dropped 12 in a row with their only win coming on November 12, that being an 83-65 decision over Millsaps at the Hawks Classic.
ALL-TIME SERIES
LaGrange holds a narrow 44-43 advantage in the third-most prevalent series in program history, trailing only the 138 games against Piedmont (LC 94-44) and 89 against Shorter (SU 46-43). It is also one of just 12 series that date back to the 1950's, beginning in 1959-60.
The Panthers lost seven in a row to the Hawks from 1974-76 but rebounded for the next five in recent years to claim six straight from 1977-98. LC's longest win streak against Huntingdon came from 2015-18 when they won six in a row of their own. They have claimed three of the last four, including a sweep of the 2021-22 campaign, posting 78-76 and 94-75 decisions that season.
