LAGRANGE, Ga. – Following their quarterfinal victory over Covenant, No. 3 Seed LaGrange (16-10, 7-5 CCS) men's basketball will head to Maryville, Tennessee to take on No. 2 Seed Belhaven (14-11, 7-5 CCS) in semifinals of the inaugural Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Tournament on Friday, February 24. Game time is slated for 5 p.m. on the campus of top seeded Maryville.
Ticket prices for each day of the CCS Final Four will be $8 per ticket for adults, $5 for youth (Ages 5-18) and senior citizens (55-plus) with children five and under and students from CCS institutions free with student ID.
The Panthers earned their spot with a 62-54 victory over No. 6S Covenant on Tuesday, February 21, snapping a season-high three-game losing streak, while Belhaven narrowly escaped an upset bid from then 2-22 Huntingdon, pulling out a 73-69 victory in the final minutes of their quarterfinal.
The winner of the quarterfinal will face the winner of No. 1S Maryville and No. 5S Piedmont on Saturday, February 25 at 3 p.m.
ALL-TIME SERIES
LaGrange holds a 3-2 lead all-time over the Blazers in a series that dates back to the 1964-65 campaign. The first of those was a 73-60 victory in 1965 followed by a 35-year gap. The teams resumed the series in 2000 with the Panthers notching an 83-77 decision and followed with a 72-63 victory the following year. Belhaven finally got on the board in the series this year with an 87-78 victory in Jackson, Mississippi on January 14 and made it a season sweep with a come-from-behind 71-70 decision on February 11.
