LAGRANGE, Ga. – LaGrange (12-6, 4-1 CCS) men's basketball returns to action following an eight-day layoff as they hit the road to face Piedmont (9-9, 3-3 CCS) on Wednesday, January 25. Game time is set for 7 p.m. Demorest, Georgia.
The Panthers come into the meeting having won four of their last five outings, defeating Maryville (88-84 on 1/6), Berea (72-65 on 1/7), Huntingdon (84-73 on 1/11) and Covenant (74-61 on 1/17). Their lone loss in that time came at Belhaven by an 87-78 score on January 14. The Lions, meanwhile, have split their last four with a 76-71 win at Maryville (1/14), 98-73 decision against Huntingdon (1/21) and losses to Berea (71-69 on 1/15) and Belhaven (82-80 on 1/20) sandwiched in between.
ALL-TIME SERIES
LaGrange leads the most prevalent series in its history by a hefty 94-44 margin over Piedmont, one that dates back to the 1957-58 season. A large chunk of that came from 15 straight wins dating from 1962-69 and another 13 from 1971-77. They would add another 13-game stretch from 1982-88 to account for 41 of those 94 victories. Most recently the Panthers have taken the last two, 66-62 and 74-71 in overtime in 2022.
