Huntingdon used a strong second half to down LaGrange 73-54 at Mariotti Gymnasium on Saturday. The loss dropped the Panthers to 2-16 overall and 0-2 in the GSAC. The Hawks upped their record to 7-9 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
Adrian Williams led Huntingdon with a game-high 27 points and 12 rebounds. Williams also had eight blocked shots. Ephraim Hudson added 16 points.
Marcus Vaughn led the Panthers with 17 points. Stephen Spivey tied his season-high with 14 points, while Blake Craft had 10 points.
Huntingdon jumped out to a 12-0 lead to start the game. The Panthers battled back, getting within five points with eight minutes left in the half. Spivey's layup made it 23-18.
The Hawks built the lead back to 10 points, 28-18, as Williams hit a 3-pointer. The Panthers cut the lead to six, 33-27, at halftime.
Huntingdon opened up a 15 point lead in the first four minutes of the second half. The Panthers never got closer than 12 points the rest of the way.
The Panthers play at Maryville next Saturday in a GSAC game. Tip-off is 4 p.m.
