Season awards for the 2010-11 men's basketball team were handed out at the team's banquet.
Senior Britt Gaylor received the Hiram Reeves Dedication Award, the Glenn Simpson Academic Award and the Al Mariotti Leadership Award. Gaylor, a pyschology major, earned GSAC All-Academic honors for the third time this season. He played in 27 games with 13 starts this season, averaging, 6.6 points per game.
Senior Nic Whitfield received the Delma Fowler Most Valuable Player Award. He was named to the GSAC All-Conference team for the third straight season. Whitfield led the team in scoring averaging 15.3 points per game.. He was second on the team and fourth in the GSAC in rebounding, averaging 6.4 rebounds per game. Whitfield finished his career 10th on school's career points list with 1,387 and was only the seventh player in program's history with more than 1,000 career points and 500 career rebounds.
Freshman Denzel Robinson received the Cecil Major Defensive Award given to the team's best defensive player. Robinson was named to the GSAC All-Freshman team this past season. He played in all 27 games with 12 starts, averaging 7.0 points and 2.5 rebounds per game. Robinson led the team with 40 steals.
