LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - Covenant took two games from LaGrange in a USA South doubleheader Saturday. The Scots took the first game 6-2, then completed the sweep with a 4-0 win in the second game.
Senior Dani Gravett accounted for both Panther runs in the first game. She hit her team-leading fifth home run in the third inning to give the Panthers (13-16, 6-12 USA South) a temporary 2-1 lead.
Gravett (8-6) took the loss on the mound. She gave up the six runs, four of those were earned, while walking three and striking out three.
The Panthers had seven hits in the game. Kalin Oglesby and Brooke Turner each had two hits.
Senior Kara Patterson (4-4) went the distance on the mound in the second game. She scattered nine hits, and walked two.
Turner had two of the Panthers' four hits, which included a double. Sydney Hodorff also had a double.
The Panthers finish the USA South portion of their schedule Saturday with a doubleheader at Piedmont.
