TROY, Alabama – The Panthers suffered a tough loss on the road Wednesday against DI opponent Troy University, 114-49.
The Trojans struck first in the contest and never took their foot of the gas, outshooting LC 47% to 24%.
"We came out and played hard against a very talented Troy team," said Head Coach Jasen Jonus. "We learned a lot of what we need to work on for the future. Rebounding and limiting turnovers are two of the key reasons we didn't compete for a full 40 minutes.
"I'm proud of our team, and we need to use this to get better."
Laila Battle led the team in scoring with 12 points, followed closely by Gracie Brunel with 11.
The bench added strongly to the effort, contributing 28 points.
Amanda Mclendon paced the team by pulling down 10 rebounds.
Next, the Panthers take on another DI squad in a Dec. 20 contest at Georgia State at noon.
