LAGRANGE, Ga. – LaGrange (14-4, 8-1 CCS) women's basketball begins the second half of the league season as they host Huntingdon (5-13, 4-6 CCS) in an early week matchup on Tuesday, January 31. Game time is set for 5 p.m. in Historic Mariotti Gym.
The Panthers continue to be one of the hottest teams in the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) as they return home with nine wins in their last 10 games – capped by a current season-high six-game win streak. That stretch began with a 64-51 win at Huntingdon (1/11) and was followed by victories over Belhaven (79-63 on 1/14), Covenant (75-50 on 1/17), Wesleyan (81-50 on 1/22), Piedmont (76-63 on 1/25) and most recently 82-57 at Agnes Scott (1/28).
HC, meanwhile, suffered through a four-game losing streak that was started by LC in their last meeting. Since snapping that stretch they have won three of their last four, including back-to-back against Wesleyan (81-45 on 1/25) and 80-40 at Mississippi University for Women (1/28).
ALL-TIME SERIES
LC leads the all-time series 27-21 dating back to the first half of the 1999-2000 season and has won five straight meetings to surpass the longest such stretch by either team. That run dates back to the 2020-21 campaign with wins of 79-56 and 75-60 and 67-50 on December 11, 2021 in Montgomery and 80-70 in the most recent meeting in Mariotti Gym on February 13, 2022 and a 64-51 victory in Alabama on January 11 of this year.
