LAGRANGE, Ga. – Still in the running for first place in the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS), LaGrange (13-4, 7-1 CCS) women's basketball travels to Agnes Scott (2-16, 2-7 CCS) for a matinee on Saturday, January 28. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. in Decatur, Georgia.
With their only loss since December 30 coming to league-leading Berea (18-1, 10-0 CCS), the Panthers look to continue a ride that has seen them win eight of their last nine games. That stretch has put them just one loss and two games behind BC with another head-to-head meeting to come next month. Most recently they extended their season-high five-game winning streak with a 76-63 victory at Piedmont (1/25).
After losing 13 straight to open the season, ASC has gone 2-3 with victories over Covenant (70-67 on 1/6) and 55-45 at Wesleyan (1/17). They dropped a 76-40 decision to Piedmont (1/7), fell 82-44 at Belhaven (1/13) and lost 72-36 to Maryville (1/24) most recently.
ALL-TIME SERIES
Dating to the 1999-2000 campaign, LaGrange has notched a commanding 35-7 margin in the all-time series. That includes a current 23-game win streak that stretches back to 2009. Among those, a whopping 21 have been by double-digits, including an 81-point victory (106-25) in 2021. Most recently the Panthers delivered a 77-46 decision at Mariotti Gym on January 16, 2022.
