LAGRANGE, Ga. – With wins in four of their last five games, LaGrange (9-4, 3-1 CCS) women's basketball wraps up a four-game road trip at Belhaven (8-4, 4-2 CCS) in a battle of two of the league's top teams on Saturday, January 14. Game time is set for 3 p.m. EST in Jackson, Mississippi.
The most recent stretch by the Panthers has seen them win three straight as they knocked off Salisbury (73-58 on 12/30), Wesleyan (95-32 on 1/3) and Maryville (67-61 on 1/6) before dropping an 81-59 decision at Berea (1/7). They rebounded from that loss, however, with a 64-51 win at Huntingdon (1/11) last time out.
The Blazers have followed a similar path, also winning four out of their last five with a three-game winning streak. That has included wins over Agnes Scott (74-53 on 12/16), Wesleyan (71-41 on 12/17) and Huntingdon (72-62 on 1/3), followed by a 78-52 loss at Berea on January 6. Most recently they picked up a 69-63 victory at Maryville the following day.
ALL-TIME SERIES
The meeting will be the first between the programs in recorded history but will quickly become a regular occurrence with both clubs now being part of the new Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS).
