Sophomore guard Zyhia Johnson has been named Collegiate Conference of the South Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of January 2, 2023.
Johnson averaged 19 points per game in helping lead the Panthers to a 2-1 week in CCS league play. She scored 12 in a win against Wesleyan, and then had her best game of the week with a 29-point outing in a win against Maryville. She capped the week with 15 points against Berea.
For the week, she shot 51% from the floor and added four rebounds per outing.
So far this season, Johnson is averaging 15.7 points per game and is shooting 47% from the floor.
She is from Homerville, Georgia, and played for Clinch County High School.
