Senior guard Bershard Edwards is the LaGrange College Athlete of the Week for the week ending Jan. 23. Edwards helped lead men's basketball to a 2-1 record in USA South games during the week.
Edwards averaged 16.7 points and 5.0 rebounds in the three games. He had nine assists and four steals. Edwards had 15 points in the 66-62 win over Piedmont. He had the game-winning shot with 4.7 seconds remaining to beat Covenant 62-60 and led the team with 18 points. Edwards had 17 points in the 82-74 loss to No. 16 Maryville. For the season, Edwards is averaging 14.8 points per game. He leads the team with 26 3-pointers and a 41.3 3-point field goal percentage.
