LaQuentin Taylor begins his first year as the Defensive Backs Coach for the LaGrange College football team. Coach Taylor is also the interim Head Coach for the LaGrange College Flag Football team which is set to begin competing in the spring of 2025. Most recently, Taylor coached defensive backs and was the Equipment Coordinator for Alderson Broaddus University. His responsibilities included but was not limited to running the defensive backs position room, being a senior advisor to the defensive coordinator, being in charge of drawing up defensive back drill cards and game script, assisting in developing the defensive playbook, and recruiting North Georgia, Central Florida, South Florida, and Pittsburg areas.
Prior to Alderson Broaddus University, he was the Head Coach at South Lake High School from 2021-2023. While at South Lake, he managed the roster of the football program, oversaw the assistant coaches, developed the defensive game plan, and called plays for the defense during games. He also instituted an off-season conditioning and comprehensive weight program.
Before South Lake High School, he was the Defensive Coordinator for football as well as a weightlifting instructor for the baseball team at Mount Dora High School from 2020-2021. Coach Taylor’s first Defensive Coordinator job was at Stephens County High School from 2018-2020. Along with being the Defensive Coordinator, he was also an assistant coach for the basketball and baseball programs. Before Stephens High, Taylor was the Defensive Secondary Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for Ridgeland High School from 2017-2018. Along with these positions, he also coached track and field. From 2014-2017, he was the Linebacker and Defensive Line Coach at Northwest Whitfield High School. He also coached track and field as well as basketball as an assistant. Coach Taylor began his coaching career at Coahulla Creek High School as the Linebacker Coach and Special Teams Coordinator from 2011-2014. He is also a U.S. Navy Veteran.
He is an Education major at the American Military University. Coach Taylor currently resides in LaGrange.
