March is National Athletic Training Month, and we want to recognize the athletic training staff here at LaGrange College. Here is what our three LC athletic trainers feel about the importance of NATM.
Rob Dicks:
NATM not only allows us allied health professionals to be recognized and appreciated for the work we do, but it also allows us to shine a bright light on so many emerging settings that the profession serves. The 2022 motto could not have been more correct "Providing Healthcare Everywhere". Athletic trainers have skill sets that can be used in any sector of the job industry. I am proud to be an AT! Thanks to the greATs before me and to come. Happy NATM everyone!
Chris Blocker:
I have always wanted to be in medicine since I was 10 years old. Being an athletic trainer allows to combine my love for medicine & sports. I also love the relationships and bonds I create with our student-athletes. They are the reason I love my job. Being an AT has allowed me to travel to different states, meet many people, become a mentor to younger athletic trainers and be the best version of myself. I love my job and the people I serve and am grateful that I get to do this every day. Happy National Athletic Training Month to all my fellow ATs I salute you!
Janet Lin Craft:
National Athletic Trainers Month for me personally allows me a moment to recognize athletic trainers in a variety of work settings and the greAT work that they do. It gives me a moment to pause and think about how important an athletic trainer has been in my life; allowing me to meet the best people, pushing me professionally out of my comfort zone, and possess skills that translate to everyone around me. I have been a certified athletic trainer since 2011 and I still find myself loving the profession and learning new things.
